Gives recommendations on the design of sanitary facilities and the recommended scale of provision of sanitary and associated appliances in new buildings and buildings undergoing major refurbishment. It also covers the recommended scale of provision of portable toilets.

Supersedes BS 6465-1:1994 which remains current. Comes into effect on 31st March 2006.
